Position Title: Construction Superintendent

Role Summary:

The Construction Superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing Pinemar's construction initiatives from inception to final handover. This position requires collaboration with the Project Manager, Project Executive, lead carpenters, and various trade partners, while also being capable of working independently.

The ideal candidate is a proactive builder with a positive attitude, exceptional communication abilities, and a dedication to delivering high-quality, intricate projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Effectively initiate, oversee, and finalize projects from the pre-construction phase to project closeout, ensuring the use of superior construction techniques and management practices.
  2. Maintain a high level of productivity by identifying and addressing constructability challenges in the plans, while clearly communicating necessary information to field staff, trade partners, and suppliers in advance.
  3. Ensure project completion adheres strictly to the design team's specifications and plans.
  4. Serve as the primary liaison for clients throughout the project lifecycle, conducting regular project status meetings with homeowners and the design team:
    1. Prepare agendas and supporting documents for these meetings and record minutes post-meeting.
  5. Develop and manage the construction timeline effectively.
  6. Assist in estimating, ordering, and inspecting materials as needed.
  7. Oversee the review processes for submittals and shop drawings.
  8. Manage on-site personnel, labor, material suppliers, and trade partners efficiently.
  9. Ensure quality control through regular inspections and collaborate with labor and trade partners to rectify any deficiencies.
  10. Lead initiatives to maintain a safe working environment on-site.
  11. Provide training on company policies, guidelines, and procedures to production staff.
  12. Perform light carpentry and related tasks as necessary to keep projects on schedule.
  13. Offer field support for one or multiple job sites, depending on workload demands.
  14. As the representative of Pinemar on-site, embody the company's core values and mission, conducting all interactions with professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Over 15 years of experience managing high-end custom home construction projects.
  • Outstanding communication, coordination, organizational, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • A patient, service-oriented, and customer-first mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of all trades relevant to residential construction, including both renovations and new builds.
  • Availability for extended hours as necessary, including weekends based on project demands.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Procore and Smartsheets is a plus.
