Your Role
We seek a dynamic, proactive individual to spearhead a comprehensive wellness initiative in the region, aimed at empowering adolescents to adopt healthier lifestyles. You will play a pivotal role in fostering sustainable change, enhancing health and wellness in educational institutions and surrounding communities.
As a Regional Program Coordinator, you will assist a team of Regional Program Managers in training, deploying, and supervising college mentors from local universities to implement HealthCorps' effective programs in middle schools. This includes organizing health-focused events, campus activities, and community outreach. You will engage with current and prospective community stakeholders, including educational staff and strategic partners, to cultivate a network dedicated to improving community health.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish Strong Partnerships: Collaborate with local universities, community organizations, and educational staff to ensure effective health and wellness programming across multiple school sites.
- Team Development: Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of near-peer mentors who will deliver in-school programming.
- Community Assessment: Analyze health disparities within the community and measure the impact of your initiatives through comprehensive reporting.
- Program Implementation: Facilitate the successful execution of HealthCorps' activities and events throughout the academic year, including logistics and scheduling.
- Direct Engagement: Occasionally deliver HealthCorps programs directly in educational and community settings, including conducting lessons and organizing events.
- Promotional Activities: Utilize your creativity to support the development and marketing of HealthCorps initiatives through various platforms, enhancing visibility and engagement.
- Commitment to Mission: Prioritize health and wellness in all activities, striving to ensure equitable access to health resources for all community members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Recent graduates with a strong commitment to health, education, and community service are encouraged to apply.
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and innovative individuals are ideal candidates.
- Experience or interest in mentoring youth and building relationships is essential.
- Passion for addressing health disparities in educational or community settings.
Skills Required
