Your Role
We seek a dynamic, friendly, and proactive individual to spearhead a community-wide wellness initiative in Maricopa County. This role will empower adolescents to make informed health choices for themselves and their families, acting as a catalyst for sustainable community health improvements.
As a Regional Program Coordinator, you will assist a team of Regional Program Managers in training, deploying, and supervising near-peer college mentors from local universities. Together, you will implement HealthCorps' established programs in middle schools, which include health-focused events, the Teens Make Health Happen Club, and community outreach activities. You will engage with current and prospective community stakeholders, including educational institutions and strategic partners, to cultivate a network dedicated to enhancing community health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish Strong Partnerships: Collaborate with local universities, community organizations, and educational staff to ensure effective health and wellness programming across multiple school sites.
- Team Development: Assist in the recruitment, training, and ongoing management of near-peer mentors responsible for in-school program implementation.
- Community Needs Assessment: Analyze the health disparities faced by the community and measure your impact through comprehensive reporting and tracking.
- Program Support: Facilitate the successful execution of HealthCorps' program activities and health-promoting events throughout the academic year, including logistics and scheduling.
- Direct Program Engagement: Deliver HealthCorps programs directly in educational and community settings, including teaching and hosting events.
- Creative Promotion: Utilize your creativity to support the development and promotion of HealthCorps initiatives through various communication channels.
- Commitment to Mission: Uphold the values of health and wellness, ensuring accessibility for all community members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Recent graduates with a strong commitment to health, education, and community service.
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and innovative.
- Experience or interest in mentoring youth and building relationships.
- Dedication to addressing health disparities in educational or community settings.
