POSITION SUMMARY:

The Principal Project Director collaborates closely with personnel to manage the investigation, design, execution, and support of technology challenges and other technology transfer and transition (T3) initiatives. This role is pivotal in developing initiatives that attract and motivate submissions from businesses, academic institutions, and individual innovators by working alongside economic development professionals, business associations, and other vital referral sources. The Principal Project Director works in tandem with the NROWERX Director, Deputy Director, and team to enhance the growth and quality of the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist NROWERX team roles in project planning and monitoring, systems optimization, technology assessment, activity reporting, promotional messaging, and market analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify, validate, and integrate technical and planning tools to enhance NROWERX's efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish and nurture technology and process-focused relationships with NROWERX and other DoD/Industry/Academia clients as well as DWX innovation hubs.
  • Oversee, mentor, and develop the NROWERX project team while contributing to the recruitment and selection of interns and new team members.
  • Identify and cultivate new partnerships with organizations, networks, and groups to expand and engage in marketing/communications efforts for disseminating content and project opportunities.
  • Enhance and strengthen collaboration with marketing/communications and events teams to engage potential clients within industry and government sectors.
  • Provide strategic input and collaboration to the Director and Deputy Director.
  • Represent NROWERX at key engagements (technology and industry forums, showcases, events, and/or speeches).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of experience in strategic planning, personnel management, process improvement, project management, and/or technology transfer.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), CRM software, and web-based project management tools.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • No conflicts of interest affecting DWX or its partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and drive results through collaboration.
