Position Overview:

As a Lead Infrastructure Project Engineer at HNTB, you will spearhead your project teams in the successful execution of construction management and construction engineering inspection for transportation infrastructure initiatives aimed at state and municipal clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the formulation of project scope and fee proposals, assisting in the creation of technical submissions and contracts aligned with HNTB's Advanced Contracting Methodology.
  • Coordinate project tasks, set priorities, and allocate staff to various assignments. Prepare comprehensive Summary Inspection Reports detailing daily activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance against the approved schedule and address technical field challenges by collaborating with architects and engineers for prompt and precise responses to information requests.
  • Manage project controls, ensuring contractor compliance, coordinating schedules, and reviewing construction timelines.
  • Evaluate submittals for adherence to plans and specifications, devising strategies with contractors to ensure timely submission packages.
  • Implement HNTB's project delivery strategy on all assignments, leading the development and execution of project management plans while mentoring team members to achieve overall project goals.
  • Enforce contract plans and specifications, confirming change order requests, developing cost estimates, negotiating expenses, and drafting change orders.
  • Maintain cost control and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Client Service Leaders and business development champions to foster client relationships and pursue opportunities for large-scale projects in line with HNTB's Strategic Sales Approach.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentation materials, leading development efforts for significant projects and engaging in industry and community presentations.
  • May involve recruitment, training, and retention of construction personnel, including performance evaluations and succession planning.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering certification and all necessary jurisdictional certifications.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience as a Senior Project Engineer on Florida Department of Transportation projects.
  • 15 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
