Position Summary:
The Executive Director is accountable for the comprehensive management and administration of the center's daily operations, staff, curriculum, and services, ensuring compliance with the policies set forth by the Board of Directors and relevant regulatory bodies. This role is pivotal in fostering a nurturing environment that supports the emotional, physical, educational, and social growth of the children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong organizational leadership to manage the center's daily functions and enforce policies on behalf of the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee staff management and development: including recruitment, training, supervision, evaluation, and maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality educational program, including curriculum development, classroom activities, health services, and parent engagement.
  • Administer financial systems to optimize resource allocation, monitor budgetary performance, and secure funding through grants and partnerships.
  • Maintain effective communication with families, acting as a reliable resource and building strong relationships.
  • Engage with the Board of Directors through regular updates and attendance at meetings.
  • Serve as the primary representative of the center within the community, promoting its mission and values.
  • Collaborate with local educational institutions to enhance community ties and ensure the center's relevance.
  • Work with staff and regulatory agencies to uphold licensing standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, alongside courses in administration or management, plus one year of full-time teaching experience and one year of supervisory experience in a childcare setting.

OR

  • A New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential, one year of full-time teaching experience, and one year of supervisory experience in a childcare setting.

OR

  • An Associate degree in Early Childhood or a related field with a plan for a Bachelor's degree, a New York State Program Administration credential, two years of full-time teaching experience, and two years of supervisory experience in a childcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in executive administration, business management, or accounting.
  • Familiarity with software such as Bright Wheel and QuickBooks.
