The Annual Giving Program Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of the organization's fundraising initiatives and donor engagement strategies. This position involves overseeing all aspects of annual fundraising efforts, including personal outreach, direct mail campaigns, electronic communications, donor recognition, stewardship, maintaining donor databases, processing contributions, reconciling accounts, organizing special events, and securing corporate sponsorships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the collection and management of donor and prospect information within the database, ensuring accuracy in all gift entries.
  • Supervise the Executive Assistant/Administrative Support to guarantee timely and precise data entry.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgment of all contributions.
  • Collaborate with Development staff and other departments to enhance software support and implement effective methods for capturing relevant information in the database.
  • Support major and annual giving initiatives through donor segmentation, prospect targeting, research, and performance tracking.
  • Assist the AVP of Development in executing a moves management system.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual annual giving donors contributing under $5,000.
  • Implement the department's stewardship process for annual giving donors, emphasizing exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate with Development and Executive staff to create a targeted approach for major gift donors and prospects.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the AVP.
  • Manage communication touchpoints for annual giving donors.
  • Act as the primary contact for direct mail vendors, tracking mail-drop dates and coordinating projects with the Marketing team.
  • Assist the AVP of Development in reviewing and developing content and layout for all fundraising appeals.
  • Segment lists for all mailings, reports, annual donor advertisements, event invitations, and donor recognition initiatives.
  • Create targeted electronic communications for annual giving donors.
  • Assist in organizing special events to support fundraising efforts.
  • Serve as the liaison with external vendors for special events.
  • Support the Development team with all event solicitations.
  • Assist in the on-site coordination of all events.
  • Act as a liaison for external organizations planning collaborative fundraising events.
  • Track quantitative data and design presentations for sponsor reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A minimum of two years of direct fundraising experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a key fundraising role.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact confidently with diverse constituencies.
  • Dedication, flexibility, attention to detail, and creativity are highly valued.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software (preference for Raiser's Edge/NXT), Microsoft Office Suite, and email marketing tools.
