Position Title: OPERATIONS PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Department: Manufacturing Operations

Reports To: Operations Manager

Backup: Operations Manager or Production Supervisor

SUMMARY: The Operations Production Supervisor is accountable for the comprehensive management of the bottling, bulk processing, milling, mustard production, and scheduling activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF OPERATIONS PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR:

  • Oversee the daily functions of the production facility through departmental leaders and support personnel.
  • Evaluate manufacturing, workforce, materials, logistics, and other operational challenges.
  • Foster a robust, achievement-driven team by employing effective hiring, delegation, training, monitoring, feedback, coaching, motivation, mentoring, and employee retention strategies.
  • Ensure production personnel adhere to company policies and procedures, safety and security regulations, and employee conduct standards.
  • Facilitate the integration of organizational changes and new operational processes.
  • Guarantee customer satisfaction through corrective and preventive measures and the implementation of continuous product quality enhancements.
  • Maintain plant sanitation and quality standards in compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  • Collaborate with AIB, Kosher Council, State/Federal agencies (FDA, OSHA, EPA, etc.), third-party auditors, and other regulatory bodies. Address issues related to product quality, wastewater management, air quality, etc.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Control expenditures and manage variances effectively.
  • Oversee asset management and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Minimize scrap and waste while initiating cost-reduction initiatives throughout the facility.
  • Recruit, train, monitor, discipline, evaluate, and develop team members.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality and manufacturing standards, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Analyze and resolve issues related to product quality, quantity, processes, materials, waste, personnel, etc.
  • Provide technical support to operators in resolving production challenges.
  • Supervise the development, implementation, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence throughout the facility.
  • Accountable for Food Quality, Safety, and Compliance.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant management experience in food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending, and/or consumer goods manufacturing/packaging.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Maintenance, Transportation, Packaging, and Safety.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented, and possesses effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications – Microsoft Office Programs and AS 400 is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and sound reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Strong presence on the production floor with the ability to engage with individuals at all levels.
  • Physical capability to lift and move over 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation is required.
