Assistant Professor of Marketing

The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track faculty role in Marketing at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. This position encompasses responsibilities in teaching, research, and service.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for delivering both undergraduate and graduate courses, including core and elective offerings in areas such as:
- Fundamentals of Selling
- Sales Analytics
- Advanced Professional Selling
- Social Media Marketing
- Digital Marketing
- Artificial Intelligence in Marketing
The teaching load is aligned with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and typically consists of five sections (15 credits) per academic year for faculty engaged in research.
Research and Service ExpectationsIn addition to teaching, the faculty member is expected to contribute to the body of knowledge in Marketing through the publication of peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals. Responsibilities also include advising undergraduate students and participating in student organizations, as well as engaging in service activities within the department, school, and broader community.
QualificationsRequired:
- ABD status or a completed doctoral degree in Marketing or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience as an instructor or teaching assistant for at least one university-level course.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to teaching excellence.
- Evidence of potential for scholarly research in Marketing.
Preferred:
- Completed Ph.D. in Marketing from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution.
- Experience teaching diverse groups of students at the college level.
- Industry experience in Marketing.
- Publications in peer-reviewed Marketing journals.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational settings.
