Position Overview

The Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics is in search of seasoned physicians who are dedicated to an academic career in general obstetrics and gynecology. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on their qualifications and experience. This role will be situated at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities encompass educating medical students and residents, engaging in the Obstetric Rapid Response Team, and performing both inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynecologic surgeries. Candidates should be adept at delivering comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic care to patients with complex medical histories. The faculty member is expected to contribute to the University through teaching, research, and clinical service aligned with their professional training and aspirations.

Primary clinical duties will involve participation in all clinical activities of the Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics at Emory, particularly at The Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospitals, Grady Memorial Hospital, and affiliated locations. The faculty member will be tasked with providing exceptional care to patients while enhancing access for routine obstetrical and gynecological services within Emory's clinical practices. Additionally, the faculty member will be expected to participate in in-house labor and delivery call coverage and collaborate with the Obstetrical Rapid Response Team alongside colleagues in the General Gynecology & Obstetrics Division. Faculty members are also expected to supervise mid-level providers assigned to their clinical practice area.

Teaching Expectations:

Faculty members are anticipated to exhibit exemplary involvement in the educational aspects of the Department, which includes:

  • Delivering instructional guidance and oversight to residents and medical students in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
  • Presenting lectures to fellows, residents, and medical students as required.
  • Participating in Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, Division meetings, and other departmental activities.
  • Engaging in mentorship for medical students and residents.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited ACGME obstetrics and gynecology residency program.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Compliance with criteria for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board is required prior to the start of employment.
