Position Overview
The Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics is on the lookout for seasoned physicians dedicated to an academic career in general obstetrics and gynecology. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on their qualifications and experience. This role will be situated at Emory Johns Creek Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities encompass educating medical students and residents, involvement in the Obstetric Rapid Response Team, and conducting both inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynecologic surgeries. Candidates should be adept at providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecologic care to patients with complex medical histories. The faculty member is expected to contribute to the University through teaching, research, and clinical service aligned with their professional training and aspirations.
Primary clinical duties will include participation in all clinical activities of the Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics at Emory, particularly its services at various affiliated sites. The faculty member will be expected to deliver exceptional patient care while expanding access for routine obstetrical and gynecological patients within Emory's clinical practices. Additionally, participation in in-house labor and delivery call coverage and functioning as a member of the Obstetrical Rapid Response Team is expected. Faculty members will also supervise mid-level providers assigned to their clinical practice location.
Faculty members are also expected to demonstrate significant engagement in the educational aspects of the Department, which includes:
- Delivering instructional guidance and oversight to residents and medical students in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
- Providing lectures to fellows, residents, and medical students as needed.
- Attending Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, Division meetings, and other departmental events.
- Participating in the mentorship of medical students and residents.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited ACGME obstetrics and gynecology residency program.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
- Fulfillment of criteria for Credentialing and Privileges.
- Licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board is required prior to the start of employment.
