About the Role:

As a Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) Caseworker, you will play a crucial role in assisting refugees and eligible individuals by enrolling them in the RCA program. Your responsibilities will encompass verifying eligibility, conducting orientations, disbursing payments, maintaining accurate case files, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Enroll refugees, asylees, and other eligible individuals in the RCA program.
  • Screen potential clients for eligibility and provide referrals to other refugee services programs, such as Employment, Social Adjustment Services, or Preferred Communities, as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive orientations for newly enrolled clients, providing them with essential information about the program.
  • Establish and meticulously maintain case files and detailed case notes for RCA clients, adhering to program guidelines.
  • Disburse monthly RCA checks according to program guidelines, ensuring payments are made promptly based on enrollment date and family size.
  • Regularly update the Refugee Management System and Client Track database, maintaining accurate and current client information.
  • Communicate effectively with enrolled clients to ensure ongoing program compliance and address any concerns they may have.
  • Collaborate with the Employment team to gather necessary compliance data for clients on a monthly basis.
  • Assist eligible clients with check pick-up, verifying their compliance with program guidelines before releasing payments.
  • File monthly assistance checks in RCA case files and record payment details in Client Track.
  • Periodically review cases with the RCA coordinator and program manager to ensure contract compliance and maintain high quality standards.
  • Report any compliance issues related to RCA enrollments to the program manager, ensuring prompt implementation of any corrective actions proposed by the program manager or Refugee Services director.
  • Prepare materials required for monitoring the effectiveness of the RCA program.
  • Stay informed about all RCA compliance guidelines and updates provided by the Texas Office of Refugees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • One year of relevant experience in social services, including refugee services and/or case management, is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for interacting with clients and colleagues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and databases is necessary.
  • A commitment to serving vulnerable populations and promoting social justice is highly valued.
