About the Role

Church World Service is seeking a skilled Employment Services Case Manager to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our direct client services team, you will play a critical role in providing employment case management services to refugees and other ORR-eligible populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enroll eligible clients into the Employment Program and provide orientation and ongoing case management services throughout the program service period.
  • Develop, create, and maintain employment solutions for refugees and other ORR-eligible clients.
  • Assess clients' employability and assist with development, formulation, and implementation of employment service plans, resumes, and job applications.
  • Work with clients to remove barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency.
  • Identify support services that may assist clients in becoming self-sufficient, such as ESL, transportation, immigration services, and childcare.
  • Identify job opportunities, assist with application completion, coordinate interviews, advocate for clients, and follow up with employers.
  • Manage ORR-eligible cases, ensuring timely delivery of services and fulfillment of requirements outlined in the RSS Providers Manual as required by TXOR.
  • Complete all case notes and program documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance within program guidelines and confirming timely delivery of services.
  • Ensure timely data entry into agency and state funder databases.
  • Provide safe, timely, and supervised transport for clients to off-site appointments or activities as needed.
  • Provide or organize on-the-job interpretation services as needed.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and promote program within the community and partners.
  • Respond promptly to employer requests and inquiries.
  • Serve as a local representative of Church World Service during presentations and meetings with external community resources.
  • Identify new referral resources that will facilitate and assist clients in self-sufficiency.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Office Director and/or the Associate Director of Integration Programs.

Qualifications

Education: Associate Degree or 3 years of relative work experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: Background in job development in social services setting preferred. Previous work experience with refugee resettlement case management or other direct social services and excellent interviewing skills.

Other Skills:

Computer literacy, using word processing and database applications. Must have a valid driver's license.

Special Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle. Mileage accrued while executing work responsibilities is reimbursable by Church World Service.
  • Must complete motor vehicle record check.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
