Assistant Director of Refugee Services

The Assistant Director for Reception and Placement (R&P) and Matching Grant (MG) is a key member of the Programs Management Team at Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston. This position is responsible for the leadership and management of the daily operations of the R&P and MG programs, which provide essential services to refugees and asylum seekers.
Main Responsibilities- Program Leadership: Provide high-quality operational recommendations to the Refugee Services Director and ensure that IM's services to refugees are culturally appropriate, individually tailored, and supportive of client self-sufficiency.
- Compliance and Monitoring: Lead the preparation for all IM internal and external monitoring for program areas and ensure that assigned programs operate according to program guidelines.
- Staff Management: Hire, develop, and manage program staff, ensuring that they are adequately trained and supported, and meet expectations in key goal areas.
- Community Engagement: Develop and lead local, regional, and national partnerships/associations related to RS, advocate for refugees, and build productive relationships with other key IM departments.
- Reporting and Evaluation: Create, track, and report program metrics and operational goals, ensuring that goals and processes promote continuous quality improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred.
- Experience: Two years of experience working with refugees and immigrant populations, or other vulnerable populations, preferred. Two years of experience supervising employees.
- Skills: Proficient computer skills, including word processing, strong written and verbal communication skills, high degree of independent judgment, excellent analytical skills, and ability to make decisions quickly with attention to accuracy, detail, and context.
