Position Overview

As a key member of our Water division, the role of the Intermediate Civil Engineer involves contributing to the successful execution of various projects that focus on sustainable water management. Our team comprises some of the brightest minds in engineering and science, all dedicated to viewing water systems as interconnected entities rather than isolated components. We are committed to delivering innovative solutions that ensure the availability and reliability of water resources for communities.

Your Role

In this position, you will work both independently on smaller assignments and collaboratively on larger initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing multiple projects of moderate complexity.
  • Acting as the Engineer-of-Record for designated projects.
  • Executing advanced engineering design tasks under the guidance of senior project leaders.
  • Creating and refining design documents, including sketches and electronic models.
  • Preparing comprehensive civil documentation such as site plans and utility profiles.
  • Leading project coordination meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Engaging in client meetings to assess project requirements and conduct value analysis.
  • Overseeing the permitting process and liaising with regulatory agencies.
  • Guiding junior team members and ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Assisting in the development of project specifications and construction documents.
  • Conducting quality assurance and quality control throughout project phases.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, including stormwater management and road design.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in engaging with clients and regulatory bodies regarding project issues.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and legal requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project documentation processes.
  • Expertise in civil engineering software, including AutoCAD and modeling applications.
  • Ability to tackle complex engineering challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education and Credentials

A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required, along with a Professional Engineer license and a minimum of six years of relevant experience. This role may involve both office and fieldwork, requiring adaptability to various environmental conditions.
