Key Responsibilities:

- Facilitate learning sessions utilizing the CAST framework.
- Enhance students' understanding of course content through interactive sessions.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with students and academic staff.
- Communicate regularly with full-time academic staff regarding ongoing student progress and concerns.
- Stay informed about course updates throughout the semester and relay pertinent information to relevant parties.
- Document and submit detailed reports after each session in the Academic Affairs Database.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to the Honor Code.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to engage with a diverse group of students.
- Willingness to work evening hours (5:00 PM - 10:00 PM).
- Preference for conducting tutoring sessions in person.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience in teaching, advising, tutoring, or mentoring roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postgraduate student or professional in higher education.
- Professional certification or degree in subjects such as Mathematics, Language, Economics, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Biology.
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring at the collegiate level.
- Ability to work independently in a professional setting.
- Experience working with a diverse student body.
Compensation: The compensation for this role is set at $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and education. Educational Support Specialists will receive payment for 1.5 hours for each hour of tutoring to account for preparation and reporting duties.
The Commonwealth will conduct background checks on all candidates prior to employment. This position is classified as a wage role and is not eligible for benefits, with a maximum of 1500 hours of work permitted annually.
