Family Medicine Residency Program Core Faculty Physician

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a dedicated full-time (1.0 FTE) Core Faculty Physician for our Family Medicine Residency Program. This role is primarily based at our Whittier Clinic, situated in a vibrant and diverse community near downtown Minneapolis, with potential responsibilities at other community clinic sites within Hennepin County.
Key Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will be a Board Certified/Board Eligible Allopathic or Osteopathic Family Medicine physician, demonstrating a commitment to both inpatient (including Obstetrics) and outpatient care, as well as the clinical education of residents and medical students.
- Possessing an academic background that encompasses curriculum design, assessment, mentorship, and scholarly pursuits is essential. Leadership roles within the residency program are also available.
- A passion for serving medically underserved populations is highly valued.
- While experience in osteopathic manipulative medicine, research, or proficiency in common Family Medicine procedures is preferred, it is not mandatory.
- We encourage the development of a specialized area of expertise to enhance our research initiatives and residency curriculum.
- Completion of the Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of Minnesota is expected within the first two years of employment.
About Our Program:
- Established in 1969, our program is recognized for its excellence in training well-rounded residents for outpatient clinical practice, obstetrical care, and inpatient services for underserved populations.
- Faculty members hold academic appointments in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota, actively participating in the education of medical students through our inpatient services and at the Whittier Clinic, the home of our Family Medicine Residency.
- Our program offers opportunities in holistic and integrative medicine, women's health, sports medicine, geriatrics, diabetes education, and international health.
- We provide onsite services including acupuncture, physical therapy, behavioral health, and chiropractic care at our Whittier Clinic.
HHS supports a total of 14 residency and fellowship programs, emphasizing resident leadership and a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare.
Application Requirements:
- A current unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Minnesota (or eligibility).
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine.
- Current DEA certification (or eligibility).
- Basic Life Support Certification or completion.
