Family Medicine Residency Program Core Faculty Physician

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a dedicated full-time (1.0 FTE) Core Faculty Physician for our Family Medicine Residency Program. This role is primarily based at our Whittier Clinic, situated in a vibrant and diverse community near downtown Minneapolis, with potential responsibilities at other community clinic sites within Hennepin County.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care as a BC/BE Allopathic or Osteopathic Family Medicine physician, with a focus on both inpatient (including Obstetrics) and outpatient services, while engaging in the clinical education of residents and medical students.
- Utilize an academic skill set that encompasses curriculum design, assessment, mentorship, and scholarly contributions. (Leadership roles are available within the residency program.)
- Demonstrate a commitment to serving medically underserved populations.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in osteopathic manipulative medicine, research, or proficiency in common Family Medicine procedures, though these are not mandatory.
- Encouraged to cultivate a specialized area of expertise to enhance research initiatives and contribute to the residency curriculum.
- Expected to complete the Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of Minnesota within the initial two years of employment.
About Our Program:
- Established in 1969, our program is a highly regarded 11/11/11 residency known for excellence in training well-rounded residents for outpatient clinical practice, obstetrical care, and inpatient services for underserved patients.
- Faculty members hold academic appointments in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota and play an integral role in educating medical students on our inpatient service and at the Whittier Clinic, the residency's home.
- The program offers diverse opportunities in holistic and integrative medicine, women's health, sports medicine, geriatrics, diabetes education, and international health.
- Our Whittier Clinic provides onsite services including acupuncture, physical therapy, behavioral health, and chiropractic care.
HHS supports 14 residency and fellowship programs, emphasizing resident leadership and a multidisciplinary approach.
Application Requirements:
- Possession of a current unrestricted medical license in the State of Minnesota (or eligibility).
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine.
- Current DEA certification (or eligibility).
- Basic Life Support Certification or completion.
