Family Medicine Residency Program Core Faculty Physician

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a dedicated full-time (1.0 FTE) Core Faculty Physician for our Family Medicine Residency Program. This role is primarily based at our Whittier Clinic, situated in a vibrant and diverse community just outside of downtown Minneapolis. However, future requirements may involve responsibilities at other community clinic sites within Hennepin County.
Key Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will be a Board Certified/Board Eligible Allopathic or Osteopathic Family Medicine physician, with a passion for both inpatient (including Obstetrics) and outpatient care, as well as clinical education for residents and medical students.
- Possessing an academic skill set is essential, including curriculum development, evaluation, advising, and engaging in scholarly activities. Leadership roles within the residency program are also available.
- A commitment to serving medically underserved populations is highly valued.
- While experience in osteopathic manipulative medicine, research, or proficiency in common Family Medicine procedures is preferred, it is not mandatory.
- We encourage candidates to cultivate an area of expertise that can enhance our research initiatives and residency curriculum.
- Completion of the Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of Minnesota is expected within the first two years of employment.
About Our Program:
- Established in 1969, our program is a highly regarded 11/11/11 residency known for excellence in training well-rounded residents for outpatient clinical practice, obstetrical care, and inpatient services for underserved patients.
- Faculty members hold academic appointments in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota, actively participating in the education of medical students on our inpatient service and at the Whittier Clinic, the home of the Family Medicine Residency.
- Our program offers diverse opportunities in holistic and integrative medicine, women's health, sports medicine, geriatrics, diabetes education, and international health.
- At our Whittier Clinic, we provide onsite services including acupuncture, physical therapy, behavioral health, and chiropractic care.
Hennepin Healthcare supports 14 residency and fellowship programs, emphasizing resident leadership and a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare.
Application Requirements:
- A current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota (or eligibility) is required.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified status in Family Medicine is essential.
- Current DEA certification (or eligibility) is necessary.
- Basic Life Support Certification or completion is required.
