Job Summary

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Residency Program Director. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician with a passion for medical education to shape the future of family medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the Residency Program, ensuring alignment with the department's mission and goals.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Residency Program, including recruitment, selection, and evaluation of residents and faculty.
  • Collaborate with the department's leadership team to ensure programmatic compliance with accreditation requirements and core competency areas.
  • Direct the educational curriculum for residents, including the development and implementation of educational programs and activities.
  • Oversee the research and scholarly activities of faculty and residents, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Recruit, retain, and promote high-caliber residents who demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care and medical education.
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external organizations, representing the Residency Program locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Commit to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, fostering an anti-racist and anti-oppressive culture within the Residency Program.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine or a related field.
  • Experience in medical education, residency program management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate residents, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including residents, faculty, staff, and external partners.
