Family Medicine Residency Program Core Faculty Physician

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a dedicated full-time (1.0 FTE) Core Faculty Physician for our Family Medicine Residency Program. This role is primarily based at our Whittier Clinic, situated in a vibrant and diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a BC/BE Allopathic or Osteopathic Family Medicine physician, with a focus on both inpatient (including Obstetrics) and outpatient care, alongside clinical education for residents and medical students.
- Possess an academic skill set that encompasses curriculum design, assessment, mentorship, and scholarly contributions. Leadership roles within the residency program are also available.
- Demonstrate a commitment to serving medically underserved populations.
- Preferred experience in osteopathic manipulative medicine, research, or proficiency in common Family Medicine procedures, though not mandatory.
- Encouraged to cultivate a specific area of expertise to enhance research initiatives and residency curriculum.
- Expected to complete the Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of Minnesota within the initial two years of employment.
About Our Program:
- Established in 1969, our program is a well-regarded 11/11/11 residency known for its excellence in training residents for comprehensive outpatient practice, obstetrical care, and inpatient services for underserved communities.
- Faculty members hold academic appointments in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota and actively participate in the education of medical students on our inpatient service and at the Whittier Clinic.
- The program offers opportunities in holistic and integrative medicine, women's health, sports medicine, geriatrics, diabetes education, and international health.
- Our Whittier Clinic provides onsite services including acupuncture, physical therapy, behavioral health, and chiropractic care.
HHS supports a range of residency and fellowship programs, emphasizing resident leadership and a multidisciplinary approach.
Application Requirements:
- Must hold a current unrestricted medical license in the State of Minnesota (or be eligible).
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Family Medicine.
- Current DEA certification (or eligibility).
- Basic Life Support Certification or completion.
