The Employment and Training Coordinator will report directly to the Adult Education Director. This role is dedicated to supporting SNAP beneficiaries referred by the Department of Human Services. As a grant-funded position, ongoing financial support is contingent upon state funding availability and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews, assessments, and provide assistance to clients in educational and job search efforts.

• Aid clients in developing educational and employability plans.

• Collaborate with DHS to establish and sustain the Employment and Training program.

• Act as the liaison between Adult Education and DHS.

• Foster positive relationships with clients, agencies, and colleagues.

• Ensure client confidentiality is maintained.

• Organize and facilitate workshops on job readiness, including interview techniques, resume writing, application processes, and professional attire.

• Clarify program rules and procedures to clients, individually or in groups.

• Track referrals of SNAP recipients to ensure compliance with mandatory participation.

• Monitor and compile reports on client participation, training, and job placements monthly.

• Lead data entry responsibilities for client participation in the required database.

• Participate in necessary training and meetings.

• Provide assistance in Adult Education classrooms as needed.

• Cross-train in all programs to understand requirements and support students in achieving their goals.

• Engage in recruitment and retention initiatives.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: A Bachelor's Degree is required. Career Services Provider (CSP) certification must be obtained within one year of hire.

EXPERIENCE: Two to three years of experience in case management, assisting clients in achieving educational and employment objectives. Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, outgoing, and possess strong communication skills to engage with a diverse population.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling, along with general office procedures and basic record-keeping practices. Proficiency in word processing applications and the ability to operate standard office equipment is essential.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The coordinator will regularly interact with department staff, personnel from other state agencies, clients/students, and the general public.
