Job Description

Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S) is seeking a skilled Material Handler to support our dynamic and growing joint venture. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and supply chain. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the movement and storage of raw materials, finished products, and parts, as well as performing manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Counts, weighs, or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with the shipper to rectify.
  • Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
  • Determines the method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Prepares materials for shipping by weighing, packaging, and stamping.
  • Prepares necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
  • Will kit material to support production needs.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Physical stamina.
  • Possess a Valid Driver's License
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
  • Experience to operate forklift, walker stacker, pallet jack, and other equipment normally associated with loading and unloading trucks. Forklift Operator Certification
  • Work outside to load and unload materials year-round.
  • Ability to obtain and have two (2) years' experience utilizing a class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with vehicle and hazardous material endorsement.
  • Physical warehousing and inventory control experience.
  • DoD SECRET or higher security clearance.
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Certification

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
