Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory General Engineer to join the Department of Health and Human Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and providing technical guidance on environmental health and safety matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and evaluate the work of professional-level division directors and other mid-level program managers.
  • Plan and coordinate work to be accomplished by subordinates.
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to senior management on environmental health and safety matters.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to environmental health and safety.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective implementation of environmental health and safety policies.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment examination.
  • Must be registered with the Selective Service System (if applicable).
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Qualifications
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in environmental health and safety.
  • Must have a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
Working Conditions
