About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). As a Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing strong partnerships with our customers while offering unmatched value in our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop relationships with SEL customers to understand their true requirements and objectives.
  • Determine, communicate, and deliver the optimal SEL solution that best meets their needs.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of all SEL products and teach customers SEL technology and innovation.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver upon quarterly orders forecasts and sales goals.
  • Collect, analyze, and report industry, competitor, and customer trends to the greater SEL organization.
  • Work collaboratively to understand and drive the resolution of customer feedbacks and product issues.
  • Liaise between customers, contracts, risk, and accounts receivable to facilitate commercial relationships.
  • Utilize business tools to maintain customer relationship information, opportunity tracking, and sales activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in technical sales.
  • Three or more years of experience in an electrical engineering or technical sales environment.
  • Experience with a consultative sales approach.
  • Demonstrated success working in a customer-facing role.
  • Frequent overnight travel within the sales territory.
  • Effective and engaging communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Fluent in local language and business practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using SEL products.
  • Utility and Industrial industry experience.
  • Leadership experience.

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as a Sales Engineer with a pay range of $90,000 - $125,000. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
