About the Role:

The Senior Specialist in Community Prevention and Education will report to the Chief Development and Strategy Officer and will play a pivotal role in leading a team focused on executing Primary Prevention initiatives within the community. This position is designed to develop, coordinate, and facilitate educational programming aimed at preventing intimate partner violence, with a specific emphasis on supporting under-resourced and marginalized youth and their families. Responsibilities include designing and implementing programs, managing budgets, overseeing operations, and regularly reviewing and updating program goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly evaluate and revise annual goals and action plans for the Prevention and Outreach Program.
  • Continuously analyze existing educational materials, stay informed on emerging trends, and engage in professional development to create impactful prevention programming for youth and families.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community professionals, service providers, and partner organizations to enhance outreach efforts and contribute to a coordinated response to intimate partner violence.
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring processes for Prevention and Outreach staff and interns.
  • Supervise direct reports by conducting regular check-ins, identifying training needs, and fostering open communication.
  • Establish and manage program policies and procedures for tracking programming requests, resources, and evaluation data.
  • Lead outreach initiatives to promote public awareness and access to programs and services.
  • Act as a representative for Doorways in community coalitions and committees focused on improving intimate partner violence prevention services.
  • Deliver presentations at events related to intimate partner violence response and prevention.
  • Maintain and update evaluation plans to assess program effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports for donors and the agency regarding program statistics and outcomes.
  • Manage program budgets and expenses in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Participate in agency-wide strategic planning and support internal communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Public Health, Education, or a related Human Services field.
  • At least two years of experience in violence prevention education, intervention, or advocacy.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience collaborating with educational institutions and community resources.
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish, Mongolian, or Amharic are preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to cultural competency.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $65,000.
