Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Agile development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Development: Participate in software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement, using Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate.
  • DevOps: Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods using Junit and Katalon.
  • Cloud Development: Develop and integrate custom developed software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies.
  • Agile Methodologies: Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.
  • Infrastructure Management: Analyze (though proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs.
  • Agile Software Development Lifecycle: Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices.
  • DevOps Tools: Use industry leading DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Unix bash scripting.
  • Documentation: Document and Perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments leveraging GitFlow constructs.
  • Communication: Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness.
  • Atlassian Tools: Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities.
  • Best Practices: Apply and identify best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Innovation: Create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.
Requirements:
  • Agile Experience: Proficient with common Agile practices, service-orientated environments, and development practices.
  • Java Experience: Use and experience with Java, Spring and C2S.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: Experience in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices.
  • Software Testing: Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as Junit/Katalon.
  • Scripting Languages: Experience with Scripting languages, such as Python, Bash.
  • Agile Development Environment: Experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.
  • Commercial Cloud Platforms: Experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (ex, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Cloud Data Services: Experience with development leveraging cloud data services (ex: S3, RDS, EFS).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Version Control Systems: Well versed with using version control systems.
  • Issue/Problem Tracking Systems: Well versed with using issue/problem tracking systems.
Education and Clearance:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 4 or more years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Clearance: Candidate must be US Citizen and have active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
