Position Overview

The Space Dynamics Laboratory is on the lookout for a skilled undergraduate student who has at least one year of academic experience remaining. Candidates should possess knowledge in one or more of the following domains:

  • Testing and troubleshooting of software and/or electronic hardware
  • Programming or scripting experience in Python, C++, or Windows Powershell
  • Familiarity with network protocols such as http/https, Active Directory, LDAP, FTP/SFTP
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, containers, and/or Docker

SDL is dedicated to a variety of missions, including advancing NASA's goals to uncover the unknown for the benefit of humanity and supporting the Department of Defense in safeguarding our nation across various domains.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Must be a student at USU with a minimum of one year left in your program. Preference will be given to those pursuing degrees in computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or computer science. Other closely related technical fields will also be considered.
  • Availability to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer, ideally in blocks of 4 or more hours.
  • Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and/or Java.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and attentive to accuracy.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in creating comprehensive reports.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
  • Willingness to learn and engage with a diverse range of technologies, programming languages, and complex systems.
