Who We Are Looking For:
SDL is on the lookout for an early to mid-career professional to bolster our System Engineering efforts in the innovative NASA project, Near Earth Observation Surveyor (NEOS). As a vital contributor, you will assist in the development, assembly, and testing of sub-systems into a comprehensive instrument. We seek an individual with formal education and practical experience in systems engineering as it pertains to the aerospace sector. You will collaborate with a seasoned team that has successfully completed Critical Design Reviews (CDRs) and is rigorously developing flight articles. Regular interaction with both internal and external stakeholders will be part of your role, along with observing and participating in fabrication, assembly, and testing operations. This is a unique opportunity to join the NEOS team and contribute to groundbreaking work.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a systems engineering or closely related position
  • Familiarity with systems engineering verification processes and requirements management
  • Capability to produce and adhere to technical documentation
  • Strong record-keeping abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in systems engineering or a related field
  • Experience in spacecraft or payload development
  • Knowledge of the space environment
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Visure, Team Center SE)
  • Extensive experience in preparing and delivering presentations
