The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL), a nonprofit organization serving the Government, is dedicated to addressing the technical needs of the military, scientific community, and industry through innovative solutions. With over sixty years of experience, SDL specializes in various domains including space and airborne infrared, visible, ultraviolet, and radio frequency sensors, as well as small satellite technologies, cybersecurity, and data assurance.

We are currently seeking an Engineering Assistant to join our Software Test Engineering Team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating software and web applications by following established testing protocols. Additionally, you may be tasked with developing, updating, and executing automated test scripts and manual testing procedures. Collaboration with software developers and test engineers throughout the software development lifecycle will be essential.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment as a student at USU, pursuing a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, technology systems, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • Completion of at least the freshman year with a minimum of one year of academic study remaining.
  • Availability to work between 15-20 hours weekly during academic semesters and up to 40 hours weekly during breaks.
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies, programming languages (such as C#, Java, etc.), and test automation tools (like Selenium).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other eligible U.S. person.
