Job Summary:
Sage International School, a public choice institution, is looking for dedicated individuals to fill a full-time Paraprofessional role for the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Teacher, Special Education Teacher, or Building Director, successful candidates will help achieve educational objectives for all students through various instructional methods, including:
  • Individual, small group, and whole group instruction.
  • Collaborating on behavior intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Providing behavioral support to students with special needs.
  • Monitoring student behavior in instructional settings to track and address undesired behaviors.
  • Maintaining a calm demeanor when interacting with students in distress.
  • Guiding students with emotional and developmental challenges through stressful situations.
  • Ensuring high academic and behavioral standards are upheld.
  • Delivering immediate feedback on student performance to both students and supervising teachers.
  • Identifying and addressing students' behavioral and social skills needs.
  • Following modifications as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assisting in the supervision of students during various school activities.

Additional Duties:
As a Paraprofessional, you will also:
  • Inform the supervising teacher of any significant issues regarding individual students.
  • Support substitute teachers by providing necessary information.
  • Attend meetings with parents as needed.
  • Manage classroom equipment and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate records for each student.
  • Complete clerical tasks as assigned by the supervising teacher.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of two years of college coursework, an Idaho State Paraprofessional Certification, or an Associate degree.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development and effective classroom practices.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
