As a leader in nuclear research and development, INL plays a pivotal role in advancing nuclear innovation. Our facilities are uniquely equipped to conduct comprehensive research and development of nuclear fuels, encompassing everything from fuel fabrication to post-irradiation analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will engage in various tasks that support operational functions. A commitment to leadership principles and Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Practices & Principles is essential. The role requires proficiency in Conduct of Operations, Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS), Occurrence Reporting, and more.
- Lead and coordinate assessments, offering guidance to team members involved.
- Identify potential risks to management systems and create assurance plans for effective risk mitigation.
- Provide analytical support to enhance performance metrics.
- Oversee safe and compliant execution of scheduled operational activities, ensuring adherence to procedural guidelines.
- Verify that personnel are adequately trained and fit for duty, addressing any training or compliance issues.
- Ensure that non-operations personnel adhere to operational standards and management procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for ConOps, ISMS, HPI, and VPP programs.
- Maintain safety compliance within facility configurations, identifying and mitigating hazards.
- Review and provide input on facility operating documents, ensuring knowledge of operational requirements.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding any facility issues, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by facility management.
- Serve as an alternate for critical safety oversight roles when required.
- Qualify as a USQ reviewer/approver.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution, with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in an operational or technical capacity.
- Equivalent education and experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, requiring US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a technical field.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, Tableau, or similar.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range for this position is: Level 420 ($54,876-$107,064) / Level 430 ($63,528-$130,284), determined by education and experience.
