Job Overview:
This role is designated for 29 hours per week throughout the academic year. Compensation for the remainder of the current school year will be on an hourly basis, with limited full-time benefits commencing at the start of the next school year.

Qualifications:
  1. Proven understanding of fundamental physical education principles.
  2. Capability to organize educational and promotional activities, along with general program management.
  3. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and the community.
  4. Prior experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  5. Possession of at least 48 college credits or a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Praxis.
  6. Knowledge and skills in teaching basic math and reading, including phonetic pronunciation.
  7. Competence in administering standardized assessments.
  8. Demonstrated aptitude for the responsibilities required.
  9. Familiarity with computer applications including word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Building Administrator.

Job Objectives:
To assist in delivering the curriculum as outlined by the school district and to enhance student achievement. To foster a love for physical activity and develop skills across various mediums.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the district's physical education curriculum.
  2. Instruct students on essential motor skills, movement techniques, and strategic thinking.
  3. Support students in achieving and maintaining a healthy level of physical fitness.
  4. Integrate physical education with other curriculum areas, such as language arts and science.
  5. Collaborate with the Building Administrator to ensure effective PE instruction.
  6. Encourage student engagement in diverse physical fitness activities.
  7. Work alongside other PE staff to plan and prepare lessons and activities.
  8. Assist classroom teachers in coordinating the physical education curriculum.
  9. Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required.
  10. Maintain high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
  11. Exhibit regular and predictable attendance.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Administer assessments in reading and math to evaluate student progress.
  2. Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to identify instructional needs for Title I students.
  3. Provide targeted support to small groups and individual students in reading and math.
  4. Maintain accurate student records in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
  5. Assist in data collection for reporting to relevant agencies.
  6. Prepare instructional materials and tutoring areas as needed.
  7. Engage with parents during conferences for Title I students as necessary.
  8. Operate educational equipment as required.
  9. Facilitate student transitions in and out of tutoring sessions.
  10. Design and manage tutoring schedules for Title I students.
  11. Order necessary materials and supplies through the Building Administrator.
  12. Communicate with families as directed by educators or administrators.
  13. Maintain precise records to support data compilation for reports.
  14. Actively participate in the school community and accept additional duties as assigned.
  15. Uphold high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  16. Exhibit regular and predictable attendance.
  17. Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Employment Terms:
This is a limited full-time position scheduled for 29 hours per week, with benefits according to Board Policy. Compensation will align with the Classified Salary Schedule based on education and experience.

Evaluation:
Performance will be assessed annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with Board policy for classified personnel.
