About the Role:
We are seeking a collaborative and equity-focused leader to assume the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The CAO will be tasked with developing, evaluating, and perpetually enhancing the policies, procedures, and practices essential for:

  • Facilitating equitable student learning and achievement;
  • Delivering outstanding service;
  • Executing the objectives of the administrative services division.
The administrative services division encompasses finance, budgeting, procurement, information technology systems, facilities management, and auxiliary services, including the bookstore and dining services.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the College President and is a member of the President's Council. The ideal candidate will be motivated by a sincere commitment to advancing the College's Mission and Priorities and will collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. The CAO will be dedicated to providing innovative and exceptional service while striving to close equity gaps in educational access and success, promoting inclusive prosperity throughout the surrounding region.

Responsibilities:
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) will lead the Administrative Services division and will be responsible for:

Unit Leadership:
  • Overseeing the recruitment, supervision, evaluation, and talent management of staff within the Administrative Services unit to promote innovation, excellence, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the college community.
  • Inspiring a diverse group of employees through mentoring, professional development, and coaching.
  • Managing facilities and information technology.
  • Overseeing enterprise services, including the college bookstore and café.
Budgeting and Operational Planning:
  • Developing administrative goals and strategies to ensure the achievement of college priorities.
  • Creating short-term and long-term financial forecasts to assess the college's financial health and identify potential budget challenges and opportunities.
  • Maintaining a strong commitment to equity-minded assessment practices, utilizing data to inform decision-making and operational planning.
Partnership Development:
  • Cultivating relationships with business, community, industry, municipal, and higher education leaders.
  • Representing and advocating for the college's institutional interests to external constituencies.
  • Establishing positive working relationships to advance college priorities with external organizations.
Financial Operations/Services:
  • Planning, directing, and implementing the financial and general operations of the college.
  • Collaborating with the college community on developing additional revenue streams.
  • Monitoring investments and safeguarding financial assets.
  • Preparing annual audits with independent auditors.
  • Overseeing all capital and fiscal planning affecting the college.
College Leadership:
  • Fostering inclusive communication and collaboration with all faculty, staff, and students.
  • Actively participating in accreditation processes.
  • Providing leadership and support for contract negotiations and policy monitoring.
  • Encouraging environmentally sustainable practices across the college.
  • Utilizing intercultural fluency to support community-led advancement.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fund accounting principles for public colleges and universities.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Experience in higher education is a plus.
  • Experience promoting equity-minded communications and understanding diverse backgrounds.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of senior-level experience in finance and administrative services.
