This position is centered around contributing to the growth of our Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) sector.

Position Overview:

The Product Engineer for Advanced Therapy at ABEC plays a pivotal role in enhancing our offerings for the ATMP development and manufacturing landscape. This role emphasizes external engagement, utilizing expertise in ABEC's product suite, market demands, client applications, and competitive landscape to foster customer relationships and stimulate revenue expansion. The Product Engineer is tasked with crafting product narratives that clearly convey the value and uniqueness of ABEC's solutions, facilitating customer assessments, and relaying insights to the Advanced Therapy Product Team to guide product innovation and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in market-driven initiatives for ABEC's Advanced Therapy Bioreactor (ATB) solutions, encompassing sales, applications, marketing, and support.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for customers regarding sales prospects. Assess potential collaborations, beta testing sites, and trials. Prepare and present proposals.
  • Enhance the marketing of ATB products by generating marketing materials and showcasing the product. Develop impactful content, including presentations, white papers, conference materials, website copy, and scientific articles.
  • Collaborate with ABEC's technical teams, including Engineering, Design, Automation, and the Advanced Therapy Product Team, to create the necessary technical documentation.
  • Design sales tools and provide product training to Sales and Applications teams.
  • Systematically collect, document, and analyze competitor capabilities and activities, as well as ABEC's product advantages over competitors.
  • Continuously gather, document, and report relevant information regarding cell therapy customers and industry trends to support ongoing product and market strategies.
  • Offer engineering and technical assistance to the Advanced Therapy Product Team as required.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
  • Actively identify and promote Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in upstream and/or downstream bioprocessing within pre-clinical, clinical, and/or commercial manufacturing settings.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in customer communication within technical sales and/or service roles.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cell and molecular biology as it pertains to bioprocessing, ideally across various product modalities (cell & gene therapy, monoclonal antibodies, DNA therapies, vaccines).
  • Experience in the design and operation of bioprocess equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively drive initiatives within a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a biological science.
  • Willingness to travel to internal and global customer sites; anticipated travel is approximately 30%.
  • Familiarity with and prior experience in implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma principles is a plus.
