Position Overview:
The Product Engineer for Advanced Therapy at ABEC is tasked with enhancing our offerings in the Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP) sector. This role emphasizes external engagement, utilizing insights into ABEC's product suite, market demands, client applications, and competitive landscape to foster partnerships and stimulate revenue growth. The Product Engineer is responsible for crafting product narratives that effectively showcase the value and uniqueness of ABEC's solutions, facilitating customer assessments, and relaying insights to the Advanced Therapy Product Team to guide product evolution and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate market-facing initiatives for ABEC's Advanced Therapy Bioreactor (ATB) solutions, encompassing sales, applications, marketing, and support.
- Serve as the primary liaison for customer interactions regarding sales prospects. Assess opportunities for collaborations, pilot programs, and trials. Formulate and present proposals.
- Enhance the marketing efforts for ATB products by generating product marketing materials and delivering presentations. Develop impactful content, including product showcases, white papers, conference talks, website information, and scientific articles.
- Collaborate with ABEC's technical teams, including Engineering, Design, Automation, and the Advanced Therapy Product Team, to create the necessary technical documentation.
- Develop sales resources and provide product training to Sales and Applications teams.
- Systematically collect, document, and analyze competitor capabilities and activities, as well as ABEC's product advantages compared to competitors.
- Continuously gather, document, and report relevant information on cell therapy clients and industry trends to support ongoing product and market strategies.
- Offer engineering and technical assistance to the Advanced Therapy Product Team as required.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
- Actively participate in identifying and promoting Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in upstream and/or downstream bioprocessing within pre-clinical, clinical, and/or commercial manufacturing settings.
- At least 2 years of experience in customer communication within technical sales and/or service roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of cell and molecular biology as it pertains to bioprocessing, ideally across various product modalities (cell & gene therapy, monoclonal antibodies, DNA therapies, vaccines).
- Experience in the design and operation of bioprocess equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic planning capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to drive initiatives within a matrixed organization.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a biological science.
- Willingness to travel to internal and global customer sites; anticipated travel is approximately 30%.
- Familiarity with and prior experience in implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) practices is advantageous.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
