Job Overview

Salary: $17-18 BOE

Reports to: Director of Golf/Head Golf Professional

The Assistant Golf Professional at Longbow Golf Club plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of the golf shop and guest services. This position collaborates closely with the Director of Golf/Head Golf Professional to ensure an outstanding golfing experience, aligned with the standards of Thompson Golf Group. Key responsibilities include managing and developing the golf team, optimizing tee time availability, merchandising, and enhancing golf programs to boost sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor staff across all operational areas, focusing on education and skill development.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by being attentive, responsive, and committed to follow-through.
  • Utilize technology and tee sheet systems effectively.
  • Oversee member events and coordinate external golf tournaments, ensuring smooth execution and a positive experience.
  • Maintain the golf cart fleet to meet cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Manage inventory and merchandise within the Golf Shop.
  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, onboard, and train Guest Service personnel, ensuring a successful orientation process.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, adhering to OSHA regulations and company guidelines.
  • Promote individual growth and development, crafting strategies for team advancement.
  • Lead by example, proactively addressing issues related to the golf shop and guest services.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for their responsibilities.
  • Facilitate open communication between golf shop staff and maintenance teams.
  • Supervise tee sheet management to maximize play and suggest additional revenue opportunities.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and purchasing processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus on primary objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, internet, and tee sheet systems.
  • Willingness to engage actively and lead by example.
  • Desire for personal growth and readiness to face challenges.
  • Capability to adhere to established guidelines ensuring brand consistency.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Class A-8 PGA Membership preferred or enrollment in the PGM Associate Program.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings as required.
