The Assistant Golf Professional at Longbow Golf Club plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of the golf shop and guest services. This position collaborates closely with the Director of Golf/Head Golf Professional to ensure an outstanding golfing experience that aligns with the standards of Thompson Golf Group. Key responsibilities include staff development, optimizing tee time usage, merchandising, and enhancing golf programs to boost participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide and mentor staff across all operational areas, focusing on education and skill development.
  • Ensure a superior guest experience through timely responses and follow-through on commitments.
  • Utilize technology and tee sheet systems effectively.
  • Organize and manage internal member events.
  • Coordinate with the sales team for external golf events, ensuring efficient execution and a memorable experience.
  • Maintain and oversee the golf cart fleet, ensuring cleanliness and upkeep.
  • Manage inventory and merchandise within the Golf Shop.
  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, onboard, and train Guest Service team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Promote individual growth and development while strategizing for team advancement.
  • Exemplify professionalism in all interactions and maintain open communication with team members.
  • Supervise tee sheet management to maximize play and recommend additional revenue opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience Required:

  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and purchasing processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while focusing on key objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, internet, and tee sheet systems.
  • Willingness to lead by example and engage in hands-on work.
  • Commitment to personal growth and adaptability.
  • Ability to adhere to established guidelines ensuring brand consistency.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Class A-8 PGA Membership preferred or intent to enroll in the PGM Associate Program.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings as needed.
