Position Overview: As a Corporate Risk Management Analyst at Matrix Finance and Accounting, you will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and managing risks that could impact the organization. Collaborating closely with the Risk Management team and various departments, your primary objective will be to ensure that the company is well-protected against potential financial losses. This role emphasizes the assessment of insurance requirements, management of insurance policies, and the execution of strategies aimed at minimizing risk exposure. A solid understanding of corporate insurance, risk evaluation, and claims handling is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Evaluation and Analysis:

  • Perform thorough risk evaluations to uncover potential vulnerabilities within the organization.
  • Assess the implications of identified risks on the company’s operations, financial health, and reputation.
  • Assist in creating and updating the organization’s risk register.

Insurance Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the corporate insurance portfolio, which includes property, liability, workers' compensation, and other pertinent insurance policies.
  • Assess and suggest suitable coverage levels to ensure comprehensive protection against identified risks.
  • Facilitate the renewal process for all insurance policies, including negotiating terms and premiums with insurance providers.
  • Collaborate with brokers, underwriters, and other insurance professionals to secure optimal coverage at competitive rates.

Claims Oversight:

  • Manage the claims process, ensuring prompt and accurate reporting of claims to insurance carriers.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary documentation for claims processing.
  • Monitor claims progress and strive for favorable settlements that align with the company’s interests.
  • Analyze claims data trends to identify patterns and propose loss prevention strategies.

Risk Mitigation Initiatives:

  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks, reducing the likelihood and impact of potential losses.
  • Engage with various departments to foster a culture of risk awareness and ensure adherence to risk management policies.
  • Provide expert guidance on risk-related issues to other departments, including legal, finance, and operations.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on risk evaluations, insurance coverage, claims activities, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Maintain precise records of all insurance policies, claims, and related correspondence.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.

Regulatory Adherence:

  • Stay informed about relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in risk management and corporate insurance.
  • Ensure that the company’s insurance practices comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in risk analysis, insurance management, or a related field, preferably within a corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of 1st and 2nd party liability, Renewal Request, Monthly Claims Reports.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional designations such as ARM (Associate in Risk Management), CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), or similar are advantageous.
