Job Overview

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Responsibilities
  • Student Assessment and Support
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' hearing levels, communication skills, and educational needs.
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Instruction and Curriculum Development
    • Design and deliver instruction using sign language, spoken language, or a combination of both, based on students' needs.
    • Adapt curriculum, materials, and environments to ensure accessibility and promote inclusive learning.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development
    • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement effective educational strategies.
    • Stay current with best practices, research, and legal requirements related to deaf and hard of hearing education.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or a related field.
  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing within the state.
  • Proficient in sign language and/or other communication methods.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
