Job Title: Elementary School Educator

Job Summary:

The Academy of Alameda is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Elementary School Educator to join our team. As a Second Grade Teacher, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, inclusive instruction to a diverse student body.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Utilize technology to support and differentiate instruction, ensuring that all students have access to a world-class education.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and academic growth.
  • Monitor student progress, adjust teaching strategies, and maintain accurate records of student development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings to stay informed and contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Passing score of California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance
  • California Teaching Credential or working on teaching credential (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse student populations and developing culturally responsive instructional practices.
  • Knowledge of social justice concepts and their application in education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
