POSITION: Venue Safety Officer

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Event Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Overview

ASM Global, a leader in the management of public assembly facilities, is seeking a dedicated Venue Safety Officer. This role is essential for maintaining a secure environment during events at our facilities. The individual will be tasked with monitoring the premises to ensure the safety of guests, staff, and vendors. Additionally, responsibilities may include overseeing property security during event load-ins and load-outs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and uphold security and safety protocols, which may involve conducting wanding, visual inspections, and pat-downs of attendees.
  • Maintain a vigilant presence during events, conducting regular patrols to ensure the safety of all individuals on site.
  • Provide security services both in front of house (stage area) and back of house.
  • Address and manage any disturbances or issues that may arise during events, including the removal of disruptive individuals when necessary.
  • Exhibit professionalism and composure when interacting with agitated individuals, utilizing effective verbal communication to de-escalate tense situations.
  • Document incidents and collaborate with the security supervisor to refine procedures.
  • Assist in managing crowd control both inside and outside the venue.
  • Engage with guests, staff, clients, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain a tidy and presentable appearance at all times.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Supervisory Role

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

A valid guard card and a California driver's license are required. Employment will be based on experience, aptitude, abilities, and training.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

While executing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to navigate the facility, stand for extended periods during events, and communicate effectively. This role may involve work both indoors and outdoors, depending on event requirements. Candidates should be physically capable of standing or walking for several continuous hours and assisting in lifting patrons when necessary.

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $16.00.
