Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Security Officer - Law Enforcement to join our team at San Joaquin Delta College. As a key member of our campus safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce college policies and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, including reports of suspicious activity, crimes in progress, and medical emergencies.
  • Conduct investigations of crimes and incidents, and prepare detailed reports of findings.
  • Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff, including providing directions, responding to questions and inquiries, and providing service escorts.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure campus environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • One year of law enforcement experience, preferably in a campus or college setting.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in law enforcement, security, or a related field.
  • A valid California driver's license and a valid P.O.S.T. Basic certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to respond to emergency situations. The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check and to undergo regular medical evaluations.
