Job Summary

This position will lead safety and industrial hygiene efforts while supporting the implementation and oversight of safety programs and policies, as well as maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, and continuously improves safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership and employees to strengthen the company's safety culture and promote a culture of safety excellence.
  • Leads strategic safety initiatives to identify and mitigate hazards, and to develop and implement effective safety solutions.
  • Conducts site assessments and recommends solutions to address gaps in safety protocols and procedures.
  • Works with leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with company expectations.
  • Creates and delivers safety-related reports and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Develops and presents training and educational programs to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety or a closely related field.
  • One year of practical experience in industrial safety, safety management systems, training, field/site safety auditing, project management, and hazard identification and control.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of practical experience in industrial safety, safety management systems, training, field/site safety auditing, project management, and hazard identification and control.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical, including ability to utilize respiratory protection and all other safety requirements, drug screen, and background check.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, and to hold objects.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for up to 8 hours per day, including walking long distances, up and down stairs, and ladders, and on uneven ground.
  • Must be able to frequently lift objects of up to 10 pounds in weight.
  • Vision requirements for this position include close, distance, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception.
  • Must be able to hear conversations in noisy environments.
  • The employee works both in a business office setting and at project sites.
  • Must be able to work outdoors during all seasons, including wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold and/or heat.
