Position Summary

Pumpkin Patch Childcare and Learning Center is a cherished family-run establishment dedicated to providing exceptional care for young children. We are currently seeking a dynamic and adaptable individual to support our team during lunch breaks, staff absences, and various center activities. This role involves engaging with multiple age groups, from infants to preschoolers.

Pumpkin Patch is a vibrant yet close-knit childcare center that offers high-quality, play-based learning experiences for children from infancy through preschool. In addition to our regular programs, we also host summer camps and provide before and after school care for older children. Our center fosters a positive work environment with opportunities for professional growth, including support for pursuing degrees in early childhood education through the Office of Early Childhood Education.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include assisting with lunch services and covering for staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing educational activities.
  • Engage actively in classroom activities while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Communicate regularly with parents through informal conversations and progress updates.
  • Promote independence and apply positive behavioral strategies.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions for children from home to the childcare environment.
  • Create a nurturing atmosphere that responds to children's emotional needs.
  • Exhibit professionalism and effective communication skills.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
  • Passing a health screening is required.
