Position Summary:

The Senior Behavior Analyst will oversee the operations of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) within both residential and educational environments, ensuring compliance with the standards set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

This role includes managing clinical supervision hours for RBTs and eligible master's level students preparing for the BCBA examination.

In addition to clinical oversight, the Senior Behavior Analyst may maintain a limited caseload.

The Senior Behavior Analyst will conduct behavioral assessments and observations in residential and educational settings to ascertain the functions of behavior and develop effective intervention strategies. Responsibilities include providing guidance, modeling, and training to ensure the proper execution of behavioral programs and accurate data collection. The Analyst will design and supervise all data collection processes and present progress reports during relevant meetings, supporting those who are not yet credentialed. Responsibilities also encompass reviewing behavior plans, Functional Behavioral Assessments, data collection methods, and behavioral objectives for IEPs and treatment plans. The Senior Behavior Analyst will facilitate training sessions and meetings with staff to ensure compliance with all professional and best practice standards. This position reports to the Director of Behavioral Services and Training, ensuring adherence to ethical and professional guidelines established by Ädelbrook, the BACB, and the Department of Children and Families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee tracking and supervision of Registered Behavior Technician or BCBA candidate clinical hours:
    • Conduct competency observations
    • Maintain tracking of hours
    • Ensure adherence to the code of ethics and provide training
    • Supervise RBT exam preparations and re-applications
  • Conduct weekly and monthly supervision sessions with supervisees
  • Manage a tracking system for implementation plans and assessment updates
  • Oversee behavioral assessments upon intake and ongoing evaluations to guide behavior plan development
  • Develop and monitor behavior intervention plans aimed at reducing problem behaviors and promoting positive alternatives
  • Assist in formulating behavioral goals for residential and educational monitoring
  • Provide necessary training to supervisees
  • Stay informed about code changes and pursue continuing education
  • Participate in relevant meetings and present data and progress reports as the certified Behavior Analyst
  • Collaborate with the Director of Behavioral Services and Training during supervision meetings and training sessions
  • Train educational and residential staff on behavior intervention plans
  • Engage in monthly and quarterly behavior support plan training sessions
  • Conduct on-site observations and competency reviews of staff to ensure treatment integrity
  • Organize weekly meetings with classroom staff to discuss progress and evaluate treatment plans
  • Provide clinical supervision for BCBA candidates, adhering to BACB guidelines
  • Review IEP goals and objectives for appropriateness and compliance with best practices
  • Monitor restraint and seclusion data to assess the need for planning and team meetings
  • Attend regular supervision meetings with the Director of Behavioral Services
  • Provide on-call weekend support as part of the clinical rotation
  • Collaborate with clinicians to complete necessary documentation and treatment planning
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities assigned by the Director of Behavioral Services or program administrator across various Learning Center Programs

Qualifications:

The Senior Behavior Analyst must possess a Master's degree, hold a BCBA certification in good standing, meet BACB supervisor requirements, and be licensed as a Behavior Analyst in Connecticut. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in developing Applied Behavior Analysis programming, with prior experience supervising BCBA candidates preferred. Completion of the 8-hour supervision training is required, along with ongoing supervision training through CEUs. Experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges (2+ years) is essential. Previous supervisory experience in educational, residential, or human services settings is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in developing behavioral training, supervising staff in behavioral programs, designing and implementing behaviorally-based treatment programs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary. Current certifications in First-Aid, CPR, and PMT are required (provided upon hire).
