Position Overview

The Community Recovery Specialist (CRS) plays a vital role in delivering daily assistance to residents, focusing on enhancing their daily living skills and self-care practices. The CRS is expected to embody behaviors that align with positive treatment outcomes and facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions. A strong commitment to the values upheld by Resources for Human Development (RHD) is essential in all job responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support residents in developing skills aimed at promoting independent living, including employment readiness, educational pursuits, financial management, medication oversight, transportation assistance, meal preparation, shopping for essentials, maintaining cleanliness, housing searches, roommate compatibility, and social skills enhancement.
  • Assist residents in managing appointments, ensuring follow-up on medical care, and overseeing medication regimens.
  • Maintain a manageable caseload of 1-3 residents, with the objective of transitioning them to a lower level of care within a year.
  • Implement principles of Psychiatric Rehabilitation while utilizing a phased approach to service planning, skill development, goal setting, and community engagement.
  • Document resident progress meticulously through daily notes, service plans, goal tracking, and medication administration records.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, engage in monthly supervision with the site lead, attend all-staff meetings, and collaborate with psychiatric rehabilitation specialists to address any barriers to service planning and skill development.
  • Ensure adherence to all programmatic and corporate policies and procedures relevant to staff, residents, and the program.
  • Promptly report any incidents that may impact the safety and well-being of staff, residents, or the program.
  • Exhibit professionalism, fairness, and compassion in all interactions.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma is required, along with three years of experience in a related field.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various programs.
  • Clear criminal record checks as required by assigned programs.
  • A minimum of three years' experience working directly with individuals diagnosed with mental health conditions or intellectual/developmental disabilities.
