Pumpkin Patch Childcare and Learning Center is a nurturing and family-run childcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional care for children from infancy through preschool age. We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable individual to support our team during lunch breaks, staff absences, and various center activities. This role involves engaging with multiple age groups, from infants to preschoolers.
Pumpkin Patch is a vibrant yet cozy childcare center that emphasizes high-quality, play-based learning. In addition to our regular childcare services, we offer summer camps and before-and-after school programs for older children. Our center fosters a positive work environment and encourages professional growth, including opportunities for staff to pursue degrees in early childhood education, funded by the Office of Early Childhood Education.
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include assisting with lunchtime supervision and covering for staff when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of educational activities.
- Engage actively in classroom activities while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Communicate regularly with parents through informal discussions and progress updates.
- Promote independence in children and apply positive behavioral strategies.
- Facilitate smooth transitions from home to the childcare environment.
- Create a supportive atmosphere that responds to children's emotional needs.
- Exhibit professionalism and effective communication skills.
- Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain a personal professional development plan for ongoing improvement.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
- Passing a health screening is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in childcare settings.
Certification in First Aid/CPR.
