At Adelbrook Inc, we are dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of young children. Our infant and toddler program caters to children from six weeks to two years and eight months, fostering a sense of belonging and love that is essential for their early development. Our preschool program, designed for children aged 2.5 to 4 years, focuses on meeting the diverse needs of preschoolers through engaging and age-appropriate activities. We also provide extended care for school-age children, ensuring a safe and enriching environment after school hours.
Position Summary:
The Lead Educator at Adelbrook Inc is accountable for the overall supervision and management of preschool and daycare classes for children aged two years and ten months to five years. This role is classified as non-exempt.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, overseeing, and executing the educational program in alignment with the institution's policies and philosophies.
- Tailoring the curriculum to address the unique needs of each child, considering their interests, challenges, special abilities, and individual learning styles.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of children at all times, being attentive to their needs and concerns both individually and collectively.
- Detailing lesson plans for assigned classes.
- Implementing daily activities with the assistance of a Teacher's Assistant.
- Preparing and supervising snack times to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for children.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in classrooms, storage areas, and restrooms.
- Adhering to and promoting Adelbrook's policies and procedures.
- Communicating any special needs or concerns regarding individual children to the program director.
- Reporting any suspicions of child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.
- Keeping the Director informed about program requirements and parental concerns.
- Respecting and valuing each child as an individual.
- Encouraging children to recognize their roles as vital members of a community.
- Fostering a love and understanding of God and the teachings of Jesus as a compassionate friend.
- Managing the arrangement, appearance, and educational environment of the classroom.
- Enhancing classroom decor with bulletin boards, children's artwork, and other displays.
- Regularly composing and distributing Parent Newsletters.
- Participating in all staff meetings and recommended training programs, and leading in-service staff meetings each academic year.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Lead Educator position must possess a professional background in early childhood education, with a minimum of an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred) in Early Childhood Education or Development. The candidate must meet the licensing agency's requirements and demonstrate sensitivity and maturity in interactions with both children and adults. Strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain program continuity are essential.
