Position Overview:

Hoyle Tanner and Associates, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our Ground Transportation Division. As part of a dynamic team of transportation design experts, you will play a crucial role in fostering strong and enduring relationships with our clients by providing innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions that enhance the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Project Engineer, you will:

  • Take a leading role in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team addressing complex technical challenges on significant projects.
  • Complete tasks with precision and timeliness while working under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Gain insights into project budgets, service scopes, and schedules, providing updates and recommendations to the Project Manager to ensure adherence to timelines and financial plans.
  • Understand client organizations, key stakeholders, and their expectations.
  • Share best practices to enhance team performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in developing person-hour estimates and budgets with support from senior team members.
  • Lead smaller teams on moderately complex projects.
  • Contribute to proposal development and efforts.
  • Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to junior engineers and peers.
  • Conduct site assessments and participate in or lead client and contractor meetings.
  • Exhibit strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and public presentations.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the applicable states.
  • Experience with state transportation departments and municipal bridge projects.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Microstation, and various structural analysis programs.
